LAYTON Police said an employee faced down two would-be robbers at a Krispy Kreme donut shop, scaring them off.
The robbery attempt happened early Monday morning when two men walked into the donut shop and brandished a knife and demanded money, officers said.
"The employee told them to go away and he actually tried to grab the knife from them and got cut in the process," Layton Police Sgt. Jim Petre said Tuesday. "He thought they were joking."
The employee was not seriously injured and the robbers did not get any money. Police said the employee recognized one of the robbers as a former co-worker. Investigators tracked down the two men and booked them into the Davis County Jail on investigation of aggravated robbery.
