Offense

Leon Jackson III sparked the offense after coming in the game late in the first quarter. He threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and got the Aggies to within two scores of tying the game.

Defense

The Aggies allowed 491 yards (229 of which came in the first quarter) and trailed 21-0 minutes into the game.

GRADE D

Special teams

New Mexico State returned the opening kick to the Utah State 47 and scored one play later. NMSU finished with 109 return yards.

Overall

The offense tallied 332 total yards, but couldn't overcome the huge first-quarter hole created largely in part to the special teams and defense.
