VERNAL A Roosevelt woman was killed Friday after she was thrown from her vehicle about 30 miles southwest of Vernal.
Julia I. Morris, 49, was driving a pickup truck eastbound on State Route 40 and for unknown reasons drove off the left side of the road. An investigation showed that Morris overcorrected and hit a trailer being towed by another vehicle when she re-entered the roadway, according to Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Doug McCleve.
Morris' vehicle rolled and she was ejected. She was not wearing a seat belt, McCleve said. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Prior to the accident, McCleve said, the truck had been reported by callers as being driven recklessly. It is believed Morris' diabetic condition may have contributed to her erratic driving.
