BASEBALL: University of Utah baseball player Jay Brossman is among a list of 120 baseball student-athletes on the 2007 Wallace Watch released Monday by the College Baseball Foundation in Lubbock, Texas. The Brooks Wallace Award is presented annually to the national college baseball player of the year. Brossman was a two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection in his freshman and sophomore seasons. He was also a second-team All-MWC choice last season. Brossman batted .354 and led Utah with 57 runs batted-in last season. He tied for the team lead with 18 doubles and was second on the team with 10 home runs.
Utah State
VOLLEYBALL: Utah State (13-18, 6-10) will participate in the 2006 Western Athletic Conference Volleyball tournament today through Friday at the Lawlor Events Center on the University of Nevada campus. USU, the sixth seed, will play third-seeded Idaho (11-17, 10-6) today at 3:30 p.m.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Weber State women's basketball head coach Carla Taylor has announced the signing of four new players to national letters of intent. They are shooting guard Kristin McComas of Milwaukee, Wis., center Karlee Weight of Springville and Timpview High School, point guard Caela Mohre of Blakeslee, Ohio, and post player Emily Thatcher from Las Cruses, N.M.
VOLLEYBALL: Weber State volleyball head coach Al Givens has announced the signing of three players. Outside hitter Micah Lines from Centerville, and middle blockers Joelle Johnson and Katie Mario, both from Canada, will join the Wildcats next season.
Utah Valley State
VOLLEYBALL: For the second consecutive year, Utah Valley State's Lacee Koelliker has been named Division-I Independent Setter of the Year and first team All-Independent. Joining Koelliker on the 1st team is junior teammate Jessica Endres while sophomore Camie Manwill was named to the second team.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah Valley State will play three games during the holiday weekend, beginning with the Mountain West's San Diego State Aztecs today at 3:05 p.m. NAIA school Southern Virginia will be in Orem on Friday at 3:05 p.m. with the final game against New Mexico State on Saturday at 3:05 p.m.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Southern Utah (2-1) plays two games this week, its home-opener vs. Idaho (1-2) tonight before traveling to Provo for a matchup with BYU on Friday.
