Handcart documentary to air on KBYU and PBS

AMERICAN FORK — A film documentary that accompanies "Sweetwater Rescue: The Willie and Martin Handcart Story," recently released by Covenant Communications Inc., is scheduled to air on KBYU on Nov. 27 and Dec. 10. The movie will air nationally on PBS on Dec. 18.

The hourlong movie by Lee Groberg includes 90 minutes of bonus features, including unusual snowstorms of 1856, the year the handcart companies were trapped in the snow, handcart travel, 75 new paintings commissioned for the book, where the emigrants came from, crossing the Sweetwater River, the making of the film and a musical tribute by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, "Come, Come Ye Saints."
