• VISIT BRITAIN. If you're looking to visit the U.K. and want to get the most for your money, winter is a good bet. Prices on vacation packages and airline tickets are a relative bargain in winter and early spring, says VisitBritain, the national tourist office for England, Scotland and Wales. An example: VisitBritain has partnered with American Airlines Vacations and Thistle Hotels for vacation packages in London that start at $543 for round-trip airfare from JFK, three nights hotel accommodations (with breakfast, double occupancy). The package includes a double-decker bus and River Thames sight-seeing tour. Book the package online through Feb. 15 for travel up until the end of February. • CAMPGOUND DIRECTORY. The 2007 edition of Woodall's North American Campground Directory is now available. You can purchase it on www.woodalls.com or by calling 800-323-9076. It comes with a fully searchable CD. Woodall's is considered by many experts to be the most comprehensive RV park and campground directory, the company said in a press release. Representatives of the directory do on-site inspections to provide readers with the best information.

• AIRPORT FOOD IS GETTING HEALTHIER, at least according to a new report by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. A survey of the 13 busiest airports in the United States showed that 88 percent of the restaurants surveyed offer at least one vegetarian entree that is low in fat, high in fiber and is cholesterol-free. Orlando International Airport came in first; Houston George Bush International Airport had the most improved score. McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas placed last, even though it made a 27-point improvement over 2005.

• HIGH MARKS FOR DEILMANN RIVER AND OCEAN CRUISES. The company has again been named one of the 10 best small-ship cruise lines in the annual survey of readers of Conde Nast Traveler. It also received the Reader's Choice award for Best River Cruise from Porthole Cruise magazine, and is one of the top 10 in Travel + Leisure's World's Best survey.
