I see the wheels are turning to increase our property taxes by yet another 13 times. I had to warm up the computer this morning to see what the proposed "Property Tax Deferral" plan really means. I plugged in the 486 percent property tax increase we've experienced this past 12 years and added the 6 percent a year proposed interest payment the state would collect from this new proposal. Our taxes, had we paid cash each year, would amount to $72,282 over 26 years. However, had we elected this tax deferral program, our total accumulated debt would be $926,900.
Sen. Curt Bramble, do you really think the rest of the people don't know how to work calculators?
