Provo Craft & Novelty Inc. announced Wednesday that four products sold by the company between August 2005 and June 2006 were identified as posing a potential health risk to consumers and have been voluntarily recalled from the market.
Products being recalled include the Rob and Bob Studio Clip-ease and Snap-ease brands with part numbers 28-1080, 28-1084, 28-1085 and 28-1086. The company said Wednesday it is not aware of any adverse incidents having been reported as a result of the products' use, but that customers who purchased the products should immediately discontinue use of the products.
The recalled products were found to contain levels of lead that exceeded U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission regulations and can pose a potential health risk of lead poisoning to children or others if they are sucked, chewed on, swallowed or handled, and if hands are then placed in the mouth. No other products tested were found to present elevated lead, health or safety risks, the company said.
Provo Craft is urging customers who own the affected products to return them directly to the company, rather than the location at which they were purchased, for a full refund of the purchase price. Complete instructions regarding the return and refund procedures are available at www.recall.provocraft.com, or by calling 800-955-9490 during business hours.
