FARMINGTON Granite Construction will build a 302-stall parking lot for an expansion of the Davis Conference Center.
The Davis County Board of Commissioners accepted Granite's bid of $644,363 to build the parking lot starting in March. Granite was the only company to bid for the project on time, said Barry Burton, the county's assistant director of community and economic development.
Commissioners have previously issued $9.96 million in sales-tax-revenue bonds to fund the 40,000-square-foot expansion, which will include a 25,000-square-foot exhibit hall.
The conference center has operated at nearly full capacity since it opened in 2004.
