Northern Utah residents should be able to see evidence of an important test for America's space ventures on Thursday evening, when ATK Launch Systems fires one of its space shuttle rocket motors.
The test will be held at ATK's Promontory facility, in Box Elder County.
"The firing will take place at 6 p.m. and will cause an extremely bright flash of light for approximately two minutes," according to an ATK news release. "The light from the firing can be seen throughout northern Utah."
Anyone who plans to attend the test at a nearby public viewing area should be aware of restrictions: cooking, pets and alcohol are prohibited.
