Suspicious bag prompts road closures in Dixie

ST. GEORGE — Police closed roads and called out the bomb squad Tuesday to investigate a suspicious bag left outside the 5th District Courthouse.

The duffle bag was discovered about 11 a.m. outside the courthouse. Police closed roads surrounding the building for about 90 minutes while the bomb squad investigated the bag. The courthouse itself was not evacuated, officers said.

A robot was used to look at the bag.

"It ended up being a bag of tools," St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding said.
