The DVD of the movie "Clerks II" will feature an anti-smoking advertisement before the film begins. The Weinstein Co. has announced it will include the anti-smoking announcements in all DVDs that depict smoking.
It comes at the request of Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff and 40 other attorneys general across the country.
"Utah's admiration for Bob and Harvey Weinstein continues to grow," Shurtleff said in a statement Tuesday. "They have always been favorites at the Sundance Film Festival and now they deserve our thanks for being concerned about the health of our children."
The anti-smoking ads are being offered to Hollywood studios free of charge as a part of the 1998 tobacco settlement. No other studios have accepted the offer, the Utah Attorney General's Office said.
