The Utah Science Center's Science in Society free public dialogue series will present "Fluorine: Fluoridation, Teflon and You," Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in the auditorium of the main downtown Salt Lake City Public Library, 210 E. 400 South.
Local experts and the public will cover topics ranging from water fluoridation and dental health, to measuring fluorochemicals in our environment.
Featured guests include David Grainger, professor and chairman, Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah; Dr. Anthony Tidwell, dentist; Kevin Brown, director, Division of Drinking Water, Utah State Department of Environmental Quality; Royal DeLegge, director of environmental health, Salt Lake Valley Health Department; Shazelle Terry, manager of water treatment, Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District; Edward Heithmar, research chemist, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Las Vegas; and Joe Andrade, director of the Utah Science Center and distinguished professor of bioengineering at the U.
