Early voting ends at 5 p.m. today throughout the state, except in Salt Lake County, where voters can go to the county clerk's office in the Salt Lake County Government Center Saturday and Monday to cast an in-office absentee ballot.
The office will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The only difference between early voting and in-office absentee ballots are the requirement that the voter using an absentee ballot which will still be cast on the electronic machines fill out a short application.
Early voting hours have been extended from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Davis County to accommodate the high turnout at all early voting locations.
Early voting hours in Utah County are also 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For polling places, call the county clerk's office.
According to Joe Demma, the chief of staff for Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert, more than 50,000 people have voted early this year, which would amount to about 10 percent of the total ballots cast if overall turnout is around the expected 40 percent. Early voting was permitted this year for the first time.
