Edward L. Lalone (Readers' Forum, Oct. 31) was largely correct in his assessment of Judge Leslie Lewis. However, like many viewers, I watched the episode, and Mr. Lalone overlooked an important fact. Judge Lewis lectured the offender and the entire courtroom on the evils of hunting. She, being an officer of the court, is aware that hunting is legal, and her personal opinion has no place in the courtroom. The man whom she placed in jail was guilty of a disturbance, although Judge Lewis taunted him by asking if he was bored.
It seems to me that there was plenty of inappropriate behavior in the courtroom.
