The Utah County Health Department announced Wednesday that it has exhausted its supply of the flu shot, due to a delay in vaccine shipments.

Paul Hartvingsen, director of the department's immunization bureau, on Wednesday said Utah County has used up all of the vaccine that has been shipped to date. He said production of the vaccine is ongoing and should be more than adequate, but it is unknown when more will be available at health department clinics.

The flu season tends to peak in January and February.

Individuals wanting flu shots are advised to check the Utah County Health Department information line for vaccine availability at 851-2222, visit www.utahcountyhealth.org online or seek the vaccination at other locations.
