OREM — Utah County residents are invited to hear candidates for federal elected office speak at Utah Valley State College during the school's "Democracy Days" this week.

Democrat Christian Burridge, who is challenging Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, for Utah's 3rd Congressional District, will speak today at 4 p.m. in Room 104 of the Liberal Arts Building.

Cannon will speak Thursday at 10 a.m. in Room 025 of the Liberal Arts Building. Cannon was elected in 1996 and has served as chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law.

Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah, will speak Friday at 10 a.m. in Room 023 in the Liberal Arts Building. He has been a member of the senate since 1992 and has served as vice chairman of the Joint Economics Committee.
