The Salt Lake City Planning Division will host an open house Wednesday to allow the public to see and comment on plans for a major makeover of two downtown malls.

The open house will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday on the fourth floor of the main branch of the Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E. 400 South. The event is intended to gather public comment and answer questions about plans for City Creek Center, a planned mixed-use development that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its development partners will build to replace the Crossroads Plaza and ZCMI Center, which will be torn down.

Among the issues facing the Planning Commission regarding the church's plans are a proposed pedestrian bridge crossing Main Street and a proposed parking structure on Social Hall Avenue that would fail to meet ground-level glass requirements.
