A gang member who investigators say is heavily into making and distributing methamphetamine was named as Public Enemy No. 1 Friday by the Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit.
John Blake Taukeiaho, 27, who goes by the moniker "Jay Boy," is currently wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service on a drug-related charge and a state warrant for stolen property.
"He is a longtime meth distributor and user," said gang unit Sgt. Bill Robertson. "He is a serious threat to the community."
Last year, investigators found Taukeiaho at a South Salt Lake apartment where there was an active meth lab and firearms inside along with white supremacists and Polynesian gang members gathered together, he said.
Taukeiaho's record includes arrests for drugs, assault, burglary, robbery and weapons violations.
He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and 195 pounds. He has "Regulator" tattooed on his chest and a tribal band tattoo on his left arm.
Anyone with information is asked to call the gang unit at 743-7000. Those whose provide information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
