Rich earns 8th straight championship

"It's been a great year," she said. "We've overcome some obstacles. We've never really had a great showing at state, but we did some good things this year ... They're a great bunch of kids, they work hard for me and they're good people."

CONSOLATION MATCHES: Monticello defeated Salt Lake Lutheran for third place, 19-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-18, 16-14 in one of the best matches of the tournament.

Intermountain Christian defeated Layton Christian Academy for fifth place with a 25-9, 25-23, 25-21 sweep. The loss means LCA finished seventh in the tournament. Panguitch defeated Tabiona for sixth place in a thrilling consolation match. The Bobcats won 25-17, 16-25, 14-25, 25-15, 15-9.
