Age: 43

Education: Attended Salt Lake Community College and Westminster College; completed police academy training in Germany and anti-terrorism training in Northern Ireland.

Family: Married, two children

Experience: 19 years of service at the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, where he is currently a sergeant; 1 1/2 years at the Utah Department of Corrections
