KBYU will start election coverage next week. On Monday, the station will air "Election 2006 Special — Utah Issues," where BYU political scientists consider issues facing Utah voters in November.

Wednesday at 9 p.m. will be "Election 2006 Special — 1st District Congressional Debate," with incumbent Republican Congressman Rob Bishop facing Democratic Party candidate Steve Olsen.

On Thursday, 9 p.m., "Election 2006 Special" continues with interviews of key federal office candidates, including Rep. Jim Matheson and Republican Party challenger LaVar Christensen.

Friday, Oct. 3, 9 p.m. will air "Election 2006 Special — 3rd District Congressional Debate," with incumbent Republican Congressman Chris Cannon and Democratic Party candidate Christian Burridge.

The station will also have election updates on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 8-11 p.m.
