Inductees honored for works, legacies
Bear said the Science Fiction Hall of Fame was founded in 1996 by the Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society, located in Kansas City, Mo., in conjunction with the J. Wayne and Elsie M. Gunn Center for the study of science fiction.
"We acquired the Hall of Fame in 2004, and it is a nice addition to the museum," he said.
On June 17, 2006, the Hall of Fame inducted artist Frank Kelly Freas, the late writer Frank Herbert, filmmaker George Lucas and writer Anne McCaffrey.
