PROVO The BYU women's volleyball team will put its No. 18 national ranking on the line tonight at 7 at the Smith Fieldhouse when it plays in-state rival Weber State. The game can be seen live on Channel 11.
The (18-2, 9-1 MWC) Cougars are coming off an easy sweep of San Diego State last Saturday and are riding a five-match winning streak. The Wildcats (4-22, 1-11 Big Sky) are in the midst of a five-match losing streak, having last won Oct. 6 against Northern Arizona.
That said, BYU coach Jason Watson is not about to overlook the Wildcats.
"Weber State is an in-state nonconference opponent with a lot of the same systems as us," said Watson. "It's important for us to be successful against in-state competition. We hope we can come in focused and determined to do our best."
Chelsea Goodman and Erica Lott lead the Cougars in kills with 295 and 264, respectively, while Lindsy Hartsock leads the team in blocks with 110.
