School reclaims record

Ninth-grader Aubrianna Martindale piles on the pencils as her and fellow students attempt to construct the world's tallest tower of pencils at Eisenhower Junior High in Taylorsville on Friday. Eisenhower held the world record, but it was beaten by a school in Minnesota earlier this week. Three hours after starting Friday's project, Eisenhower students had built three pencil towers, all of which erased the Minnesota record. The tallest tower reached 9 feet, 6 inches — a world record.
