Utah's Department of Workforce Services will be honored by the U.S. Department of Labor on Nov. 1 for attaining the best performance nationally in administration of an unemployment insurance program.

The department is celebrating performance excellence in the Unemployment Insurance system with its first-ever Unemployment Insurance State Performance Excellence Awards recognizing state work force agencies that have demonstrated the highest levels of performance in key areas of state UI operations. Utah will receive the highest honor, the Pinnacle Award, which goes to the state with the top performance overall.

Utah will be presented the Pinnacle Award at a ceremony Nov. 1 in Denver at a conference attended by state UI directors from across the nation.
