The family of a Vernal woman thanked searchers Thursday but asked for privacy while they deal with the death of their husband and father.

Deborah Alexander, 56, is said to be doing well after being found seriously injured Wednesday. She and her husband, Parley, 58, had been missing for two days. Their vehicle had gone off U.S. 40 near Daniels Canyon in Wasatch County and landed upside down in a 30-foot ravine.

Parley Alexander did not survive the crash.

"We want to express our gratitude to God in sending us strength at this time and for preserving mom. She is doing well, and her condition is moving in the right direction," the family said in a statement released by the University of Utah Medical Center.

A fund to assist the family with burial and medical costs, has been set up at Mountain America Credit Union.
