What some teens may have hoped would be the prank of the year ended up landing them in trouble in Sevier School District.
Wednesday morning, students chained a dead sheep they had killed with a .22-caliber rifle to South Sevier High School's goal post in Monroe, Utah.
Investigators were able trace the locks on the chain to the local Wal-Mart. From the store's surveillance video, two teens were identified buying the locks Tuesday night.
Investigators then traveled to Richfield High to speak with the two teens identified in the surveillance video. Since then officials said four young men have admitted to doing it, and there are three others who they believe are involved.
The two schools have an intense rivalry and deputies hope the pranks do not escalate.
