All women visiting Wal-Mart during the event will receive a free book, "It's the Right Time ... to Take a Pledge for Better Health." The book featues tips on health, well-being and personal safety.

Warm Up America

Warm Up America, the national charity that has provided hundreds of thousands of hand-knitted and crocheted afghans to people in need, is looking for volunteers.

Novice and know-how knitters and crocheters are invited to special events at all Michaels craft stores on Sunday between 1-5 p.m., to learn how to make 7x9-inch knitted or crocheted squares used in the afghans.

Then volunteers are asked to make as many of the squares as they want and return them on Nov. 12, when participants will join donated squares into afghans. The afghans will be donated to homeless shelters, the Salvation Army, children's hospitals and other community programs.
