SOCCER: Utah sophomore forward Adele Letro and senior goalkeeper Ashley Mason have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Letro scored Utah's lone goals in a pair of 1-0 victories over UNLV and No. 15 BYU to open conference play. She now has six goals on the season to lead the Mountain West Conference. Mason had a total of nine saves in a pair of 1-0 wins over UNLV and BYU.GOLF: Utah finished seventh at the District 7 Shootout in Las Vegas after posting a team score of 287. Utah was led by Nicholas Larson, who fired a 70 on Tuesday to complete the Shootout at 5 under par. Trailing Larson was Chris Gresh, who carded a 73 to finish up tied for 16th. Nick Carter also stood out for the Utes, recording a final round of 71 to conclude the tournament at even par.

SOCCER: Courtney Robbins has been named the United Soccer Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week against Utah State and North Dakota State. Robbins scored two goals on Friday in a 2-1 win over Utah State and on Saturday she scored the Wolverines' only goal in a 2-1 loss to North Dakota State.
BASKETBALL: Utah Valley State College's men's basketball coach Dick Hunsaker has announced the hiring of Andy Hipsher as a new assistant coach. Hipsher comes to Utah Valley after working as UNLV's video coordinator.

SOCCER: Utah State returns home for its Western Athletic Conference home-opener, hosting San Jose State on Friday at 3 p.m.
VOLLEYBALL: Utah State's women's volleyball team continues WAC play on the road this week at Fresno State on Thursday. Utah State is 10-10 and in fifth-place in the WAC with a 3-3 league record following a pair of three-game losses at Nevada and at 15th-ranked Hawaii last weekend.
FOOTBALL: Utah State football player Ben Calderwood was named the WAC defensive player of the week for his efforts in USU's 13-12 win against Fresno State. Calderwood, a 6-2, 260-pound defensive end, recorded a career-high nine tackles, including two for loss as the Aggies limited Fresno State to its fewest points in its last 61 games. His nine tackles were the most by an Aggie lineman since John Chick had nine against Wyoming in 2003.
