Embarrassed by Cannon

I was appalled by Congressman Chris Cannon 's original statements to KSL but sickened by his attempts to clarify his position. In the "real world," what Rep. Foley did is sexual harassment of a minor. The competence of the minor has no relevance. Whether any one of the minors so harassed engaged in "egging" on the harasser does not excuse the behavior. So says every corporate sensitivity trainer and virtually every U.S. court.

As a registered Republican and citizen of Utah I can only express my outrage, sorrow and abject embarrassment that a person elected to represent my party and my state would try and excuse criminal and predatory behavior. I can live with myself if the Democrats control the House, but I cannot remain silent in the face of Cannon's display of his "principles."
