Pages are not to blame

While listening to the KSL morning show, I found myself amazed and distressed by Congressman Chris Cannon 's assertion that "Congressman Foley does not bear all the blame on this issue — the pages and their parents share in the blame." I supported Cannon in his fight to impeach President Clinton and accepted his comments at the time that an adult in a position of power bears the full responsibility for inappropriate actions with subordinates, particularly interns. This is why it is so distressing to hear him now say that these underage boys who work as pages are partially responsible for not being smarter in recognizing abuse.
