Construction work on I-15 will cause overnight closures of interchanges in Orem and American Fork this week, the Utah Department of Transportation has announced.

From 7 tonight until 6 a.m. Friday, 500 East in American Fork at the I-15 interchange (exit 276) will be closed for paving operations. Motorists will need to use the Main Street interchange in American Fork (exit 278) or the Pleasant Grove interchange (exit 275) to access I-15.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, the southbound off-ramp and northbound on-ramp at 800 North in Orem will also be closed. It is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday. Motorists will need to use the Orem interchanges at 1600 North (exit 273) or Center Street (exit 271).

Motorists should expect moderate travel delays.

Also, portions of I-15 in Weber and Davis Counties will be closed or restricted this weekend for road work. UDOT is advising motorists of the following:

• Weber County: I-15 will be closed in both directions in the Ogden area this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Northbound closures will begin at Riverdale Road, while southbound closures will begin at 21st Street. Traffic will be detoured to Riverdale Road, Wall Avenue and U-126.

• Davis County: Beginning Friday at 7 p.m. until Saturday at 8 p.m., northbound I-15 will be restricted to one lane near the U-193 interchange in Clearfield. The closure will help accommodate a bridge repair. Motorists should expect heavy delays.
