A wide array of new DVDs has hit shelves this week.

THANK YOU FOR SMOKING (Fox, 2006; R for violence, sex, language; $29.98). This punch-to-the-gut satire is more about the ethics of spin than smoking, per se, as a slimy tobacco lobbyist — perfectly played by Aaron Eckhart — travels a slippery slope for his bosses and may be a disappointment to his young son. Great cast includes Robert Duvall, Sam Elliott, William H. Macy, Maria Bello, Rob Lowe, etc. The weak link is Katie Holmes, less-than-convincing as a TV reporter who uses Eckhart.

Extras: Separate widescreen and full-frame editions, audio commentary, deleted scenes, featurettes, language options (English, Spanish), subtitle options (English, Spanish, French), chapters.

MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL: THE EXTRAORDINARILY DELUXE EDITION (Sony, 1974, PG, $29.95, three discs). The umpteenth reissue of this farce can't erase the fact that it's a hilarious movie ... but enough already. New bonus features include an animated medley of songs from "Spamalot," an interactive game and jazzed up menus. The third disc is a CD of the record that came out in the '70s, with crude (and some R-rated) Pythonisms between audio cuts from the film.

Extras: Widescreen, audio commentaries, featurettes, sing-alongs, art/poster gallery, trailers, language options (English, French, Portuguese), subtitle options (English, French, Chinese, Thai, Portuguese), chapters.

POINT BREAK: PURE ADRENALINE EDITION (Fox, 1991; R for violence, language, nudity, drugs, sex; $19.98). In this age of titles like "Snakes on a Plane," this could be "Surfing Bank Robbers Who Sky Dive!" Undercover FBI agent Keanu Reeves (named "Johnny Utah") takes lessons from zen surfer/bank robber Patrick Swayze in this dumb-but-flashy thriller.

Extras: Widescreen, deleted scenes, featurettes, photo gallery, language options (English, Spanish, French), subtitle options (English, Spanish), chapters.

LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS: LOCKED 'N LOADED DIRECTOR'S CUT: UNRATED (Focus/Universal, 1999 not rated, but with R-level violence, language, nudity, drugs; $19.98). Violent, profane and rather cruel British criminal yarn about four guys looking for a big score, leading to one double-cross after another. Sting shows up in a minor role.

Extras: Widescreen, featurettes, subtitle options (English, Spanish, French), chapters.

21 GRAMS: COLLECTOR'S EDITION (Focus/Universal, 2003; R for violence, language, nudity, sex, drugs; $14.98). Sean Penn and Naomi Watts head the cast of this downbeat thriller with flashbacks and flashforwards about an accident that brings disparate characters together.
