PROVO Downtown art galleries will stay open late Oct. 6 for the art stroll that occurs the first Friday of every month.
Among them are the Storefront Galleries at 26 W. Center, 250 W. Center and 273 W. Center, said Raquel Smith-Callis of the Downtown Alliance. The galleries are a series of windows in vacant stores that are used to display local art.
Currently on display are paintings by David Gianfredi, stained glass by Andrew Kosorok, "Reclaiming Childhood" by Provo High School students, Xerox transfer drawings by Walden Academy, wildlife carvings and paintings by Ken Lance, paintings by Soozin, pastels by Alexander Green and collaged lithographs by Rachel Hoover.
During the stroll people can often meet the artists. Some galleries offer refreshments and live music. The stroll is free and includes a printed guide. For more information call 377-5700. Open galleries are: Terra Nova, 41 W. 300 North, "Birds of a Feather" exhibit by artists Brett Larsen, Rebecca Lee, Dahrl Thomson, Kelly Thurgood and Rebecca Wagstaff.
Coleman Studios, 117 N. University Ave. Fine art prints of Brian Kershisnik and sculpture by Jack Morford.
Utah County Gallery, 151 S. University Ave. Celebrating 50 years of the Provo Art Board and Utah County Art Board, features artists who served on those boards during that period. A program at 7 p.m. honors B.F. Larson and Lael Woodbury.
Gallery OneTen and the Art Seminary, 110 S. 300 West. "Geneva Steel" paintings and drawings by Marlene McCune. "The Fantastic Women" paintings by Lori Lambson.
