RICHFIELD — Firefighters continued to battle the 617-acre Polly's Peak Fire on Sunday and were unable to project when they might have the wildfire contained.

The fire, burning a mile east of Fountain Green in Sanpete County, started about 5:30 p.m. Friday and was believed to be human-caused.

According to the Richfield Interagency Fire Center, the blaze was mostly on Bureau of Land Management property with a small segment of state land involved.

Road closures were in effect on the south side of the fire. Residents of the Sanpete Valley may be affected by smoke from the fire, but no structures were threatened as of Sunday night, Fire Center officials said.
