Utah

CROSS COUNTRY: Rebecca Mackelprang led the Utah cross country team as it finished third at the Utah Fall Twilight at the Rose Park Golf Course Friday. Mackelprang led all Utes in clocking 22:54 over the 6K course. She was fifth overall as Utah recorded 60 points. UVSC placed first with 25 points followed by Air Force (49 points). Nevada finished fourth (87), and Westminster (155) fifth.

Utah State

SOCCER: Utah State hosts Eastern Washington today at 10 a.m. at Chuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field. The Aggies have a 1-2-0 series record vs. Eastern Washington, losing the two contests in Cheyney. The Aggies are 3-6 overall. Eastern Washington beat Utah Valley State 1-0 in overtime Thursday.

VOLLEYBALL: Utah State's women's volleyball team lost a three-game match (21-30, 28-30, 14-30) to 22nd-ranked New Mexico State Thursday night. NMSU improves to 17-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Western Athletic Conference, while USU drops to 9-8 overall and 2-1 in the league. Amanda Nielson led Utah State with 11 kills, while Beth Hodge hit a team-high .304 as she had nine kills. Utah State meets Louisiana Tech (5-14 overall and 0-3 in WAC) today at 7 p.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Southern Utah

SOCCER: Southern Utah slipped past Western Illinois, 1-0, Friday afternoon to remain unbeaten in Mid-Continent Conference play. The win moved SUU to 3-6-1 overall, 2-0-1 in league play, while Western fell to 7-5-0, 0-2-0 in conference. Kimly Anderson scored SUU's goal on a pass from Courtney Milligan in the 63rd minute. The T-Birds will face in-state rival Weber State on Sunday with kickoff slated for 3 p.m.

Weber State

CROSS COUNTRY: On Friday, the Weber State men's and women's cross country teams finished ninth and sixth, respectively, at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. Junior Seth Pilkington finished second overall out of 165 runners with a time of 23:40 on the five-mile course. The Wildcat women were led by senior Lindsey Anderson who finished 12th overall in 17:11 on the three-mile course.
