An 18-year-old man died Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle on 400 West. He was not wearing a helmet.
The wreck occurred at 5:19 p.m. near 500 North.
Salt Lake City Police Lt. Gary Layton said there were several witnesses to the crash. The man apparently "developed a wobble" on the front end of his bike, causing him to hit a curb. The bike then hit a tree, the victim was ejected, skidding about 100 feet down the street, Layton said.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man's name was not release pending notification of relatives.
