A day after being indicted by a federal grand jury, Kirk Alan Swearingen appeared in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City to face the charges. Swearingen, 45, was arrested by FBI agents when he gave a stolen Social Security number while trying to rent a Salt Lake City apartment.
