Friday night game of the week

Published: Friday, Sept. 22 2006 9:58 a.m. MDT

Snow Canyon Warriors (4-0) at Cedar Redmen (4-0)

Series Note: Cedar is looking to improve to 5-0 for the first time since 1984.

About the Warriors: They enter the game as the second-highest scoring team in 3A, averaging 37.5 points per game. Quarterback Jaden Willard is completing 61.2 percent of his passes, and he's amassed 555 total yards in just three games. His top target is often Dalton Groskruetz. The junior leads the state with 94 receiving yards per game, while his seven total touchdowns also leads the state. Defensively, Jared Miller leads the team with 23 solo tackles.

About the Redmen: After winning just one game last year, the Redmen roll into this game with a 4-0 record. Defense has been the catalyst, as Cedar is only surrendering 10 points per game, tops among 3A teams. Offensively, junior quarterback Logan Obering is enjoying a fantastic season. Steve Warby leads the team in rushing with 121 yards per game and seven total TDs, thanks in large part to the outstanding offensive line play of Bronson Weaver.
