MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Co-interim head coaches Ryan Millar and Shawn Patchell have released BYU's schedule for the 2007 season. The Cougars have exhibition matches scheduled for two separate weeks in October. BYU will head to Alberta, Canada, Oct. 13-14 before hosting Pepperdine on Oct. 26-27. For the third consecutive season, BYU will kick off its home schedule with Cal.-Baptist on Jan. 5 and 6 before welcoming defending national champion UCLA to the Smith Fieldhouse on Jan. 12 and 13.
BASEBALL: A new schedule, a new coach and more honors are recent developments for BYU's baseball team. The 2007 schedule was unveiled last week and features a three-game Service Academy Tournament at Millington, Tenn., against Kansas State, Memphis and Washington in February. Washington also comes to Provo for a two-game series in April and the Cougars play a two-game series at Kansas State in March. The season begins in early February with games in Texas and Oregon.
Utah State
VOLLEYBALL: Utah State's women's volleyball team will travel to Tulsa, Okla., this weekend to compete in the 2006 Oral Roberts on Friday and Saturday. The 5-5 Aggies open the tournament against Texas-Arlington on Friday at 9:30 a.m., and will then play Arkansas-Little Rock at 1:30 p.m. Utah State on Saturday meets St. Francis (N.Y.) at 1:30 p.m. and host Oral Roberts at 6 p.m.
Westminster
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Former Westminster College standout Shalee Fackrell has signed a contract to play professionally in Wels, Austria. Fackrell, a 6-1 post player, was the 2005-06 Frontier Conference MVP while leading the NAIA in scoring at 27 points per game. The Heber City native is Westminster's first WBCA/Kodak All American, NAIA 1st team All American and first to play professionally.
