Longtime NFL referee Jerry Markbreit will be the featured speaker Sept. 20 when the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation and the Utah High School Activities Association honor former high school and collegiate officials.
The 2006 Officials Honors Banquet will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m. at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy.
The honorees and the primary sport they officiated include Evan Baugh of Orem (basketball), Bill Berg of West Valley City (football), Ann Bricker of Clearfield (volleyball), Michael Carr of Bountiful (basketball), Don Gust of Ivins (baseball), Bart Johnson of Clinton (football), Greg Jones of North Salt Lake (football), Joy Peterson of Cedar City (volleyball), Jim Scarcelli of Helper (basketball), Bob Swiatocha of Taylorsville (basketball), Rex Thornton of Salt Lake City (football) and Joe Worthen of Payson (basketball).
