I refuse to believe that Brandon Mark (Readers' Forum, Sept. 9) actually believes that Mayor Ross Anderson's speech to a couple thousand of his "Culture of Obedience" drones was not racist. Anyone who follows the hate speech of the mayor will note that he has used the word "slavish" only once, in any of his public discourses during his reign. This was to describe a political opponent who happened to be African-American.
The real offenders here are the vocal minority who treat the mayor like a rock star. I say the nickname "Rocky" is being abused. It should be reserved for cartoon squirrels and bad actors who have been hit in the head too often.
