Fans share feelings about MWC TV deal
"Comcast knows this and sees a competitive advantage over their rivals, so I am sure it goes without saying that they are hanging a very expensive price tag over the heads of the dish networks in the hopes of luring clients away. We, as fans, are left with one option go to Comcast or be in the dark.
"I am going to Comcast, but I am not going to pay for it since (Utah athletics director) Chris Hill and I have an understanding that he will foot the bill for the increased cost on my behalf. As I told him in my letter the other day, 'any increase I have to pay will be offset by my reduction in donations to the Crimson Club and the university in general.'
"Nets to zero for me, loss goes to the university." David D. Roberts of Salt Lake City
"This is a textbook case of how to be inept. Why do these people still have jobs?
PUBLIC RELATIONS: (BYU associate athletic director of communications Duff) Tittle complains that we are starting unfounded rumors when he and his group are the cause of the unfounded rumors because they have done such a poor job of communicating. In the absence of information, people dig deeper for more information just as you do.
"Craig Thompson should be fired just as a coach would for a team that goes 0-11. Mark Stoddard of Provo
"I am a byu alumni living just a couple of miles from the brand new Cardinal Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. There is quite a large pocket of BYU fans around here and we are dying to get our view of the Cougs! For us, however, The mtn isn't offered through any provider, cable or satellite. I'm sure you've heard this story before; however, there's a point that I haven't seen or heard anyone discuss:
"I am a Direct TV customer, and through my current package (no extras), I have access to OLN (soon to be Versus) and ESPN. To get CSTV (and a host of other sports channels) it only costs me $12 per month more via the 'sports pack.' This package can be added or cancelled at any time.
