To participate in the third annual "Legacy of Lowell Service Day," volunteers should arrive at the Utah Food Bank today between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.. The Food Bank is located at 1025 S. 700 West.
The late Lowell Bennion, former administrator at the University of Utah, was known for his contributions to the community, from visiting widows to delivering food for the hungry.
In Bennion's memory, the U.'s Lowell Bennion Community Service Center will start the day with a breakfast for volunteers at 8 a.m. at the U.'s Union Building, 200 Central Campus Drive (1595 East). After that, a bus will take participants to the Food Bank to sort and package food for distribution.
At 11:30 a.m., volunteers will be bused back to the U. for a lunch and program to honor Bennion's legacy.
