Mining executive to speak at U. annual convocation

Peter Lassonde, president of Newmont Mining, will deliver the keynote address at the annual Spencer Fox Eccles Convocation Wednesday at the University of Utah.

Lassonde recently donated $13.25 million to the U.'s David Eccles School of Business to create the newly renamed Pierre Lassonde Entrepreneur Center. Lassonde is an alumnus of the school.

The 16th annual convocation takes place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the U.'s Museum of Fine Arts Dumke Auditorium, 410 S. Campus Center Drive (1725 East).
