MURRAY The fifth annual Pagan Pride Festival will be Saturday, Sept. 16, at Murray Park, 495 E. 5300 South, pavilions 1-3.
The festival will feature several pagan ceremonies, information on pagan spiritual practices, workshops, crafts, art displays, children's activities, vendors and live dance performances. All activities are free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to bring a donation of one or more nonperishable food items for donation to Crossroads Urban Center.
The event is affiliated with the Pagan Pride Project, a global effort to reduce discrimination against pagan religions, and sponsored locally by The Order of Our Lady of Salt, Church of the Sacred Circle and Hart's Hearth Clan. The group says modern paganism, or neo-paganism is a rapidly growing religious movement based on combinations of ancient polytheism, modern eco-spirituality and reverence for the divine as both masculine and feminine.
