The Office of Museum Services will host three public lectures by wood conservator Ronald Sheetz. The first will be Monday in Helper at the Rio Theater. On Tuesday Sheetz will be at the Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum in Fillmore. Wednesday, he will be at the Rio Grande Depot in Salt Lake. Sheetz will discuss history, archaeology, woodworking, log cabins, antiques and conservation. All lectures begin at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Laurel Casjens at 533-3592.
The Utah Arts Alliance announces a call for entries for tattoo artists interested in exhibiting original work. The exhibit, at the UAA gallery, will be Oct. 27-Nov. 25. Artists must RSVP by Sept. 30. For more information call 651-3937.
Flynn Artipelago, a cluster of artist studios located at 3474 S. 2300 East, will open their studio doors Friday evening from 6-9 to allow visitors. Admission is free.
The Museum of Church History and Art announces a call for entries for its juried Eighth International Art Competition that will be from March 20-Oct. 11, 2009. The exhibit theme is "Remembering the Great Things of God" and encompasses the experiences of Latter-day Saints everywhere. The Tracy Aviary announces a call for entries for "Changing Nature: Ebb & Flow," a juried exhibit to be held Nov. 10-Dec. 14.
