Odor-Eaters is seeking a Utah child with sneakers so old and stinky, the town dump wouldn't even take them.
Children, ages 5-15, will be able to compete Saturday at 2 p.m. The contest will be held at the Utah State Fair south plaza stage.
Sneakers will be judged on the sole, tongue, heel, toe, laces/Velcro, eyelets/grommets, overall condition and, of course, odor. The winner will compete with nine other contestants throughout the nation in the 32nd Annual National Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest.
The winner will receive $200 for a new pair of sneakers, the Golden Sneaker Award and an expense-paid trip to Montpelier, Vt., to compete in the national contest.
For more information, contact the Utah State Fair at 801-538-8440.
