SUNDANCE — Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will visit Sundance on Nov. 11 as part of the resort's Tree Room Author Series.

Albright, who was in office from 1997 to 2001, will be speaking about her new book "The Mighty and the Almighty: Reflections on America, God and the World."

In the book, Albright discusses the impact of religion on America's view of itself, the effect on U.S. policy of the rise of the Christian right, the Bush administration's successes and failures in responding to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the challenges posed by the war in Iraq, and the importance of understanding Islam.

Albright was nominated as Secretary of State by President Bill Clinton on Dec. 5, 1996, and was unanimously confirmed by the Senate. She was sworn in Jan. 23, 1997.

Prior to her Cabinet appointment, Albright served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and on the staff of the National Security Council.

Cost of the Sundance event is $95 and includes the author's lecture and discussion, brunch and an autographed copy of "The Mighty and the Almighty." The event begins at noon.
